Notes
I found the following note to myself in a drawer under the bed, which is a Captain’s Bed style, meaning it’s built like a big empty box, with other boxes inside it. The note is mostly scribbled, and is hard to read. It is on lined notebook paper, and torn out of some past notebook. I’m not sure exactly when it was written, and I do not remember writing it, but it is definitely in my hand writing. At the top is written “1. 1985, 2. 81-83. 93. 4. ‘95”. On the side of the note I drew a small rectangle, the short sides are on the top and bottom. Underneath the rectangle is an even smaller octagon, with three tiny circles inside it, and the whole octagon is shaded in blue ink. The rectangle is drawn in pencil. There are lots of things, most of them are scribbled out so they cannot be read. At the bottom of the page is written: “Smurf note. ID#87451. 10th Wed. Time? Place? 25 people. Music. Witold Lutoflawski. Chain 3 (world premier).” And below that is scribbled the letter “Z”, within a circle, with lines coming out of it. At the top of the note is what appears to be a list, with maybe a title (?): “1. In the Brazil fun park. 2. Mecca.” Then under that: “Mosquitos (biting contest), Ant wars or ‘steal the picnic’ contest. I-5 Crossing. Raid consumption contest. ‘Hiding maggots in the manure’ contest, shallow swimming, ‘spin the bottle machine’, fast skate backwards, learning from rodents. Insect dog. Quill-throwing. Pellet-putting contest. Shawl. ‘Undeveloped embryo identification’ contest. Blind folded salmon-like swim. Beach finder contest. Divisions: land/air/amphibian. Motto: ‘C.C. Conradery in the course of current crisis’. Rules: if death, then must eat the slain. Killing allowed one’s own division only. Stay in division of Individual. No airborn mating in front of land based insects. Contestant provide own trans. Special insects division. Jerry squids, lizards.”
